Seller Management
The Sellers page is your central hub for monitoring and managing all pet professionals (Sellers) who publish your products onto their ShopDot online storefront. From this dashboard, you can view your Sellers, manage permissions, and see exactly which products each Seller has listed on their storefront.
Keeping your Seller relationships organized helps maintain product accuracy and safeguard brand reputation.
Tip: Think of your Sellers page as your relationship management center—where visibility meets control.
Table of Contents
1) Sellers Page & Tabs
ShopDot organizes your Sellers page by tabs so you can quickly focus on the relationships that matter most. Each tab represents a Seller status, helping you easily manage permissions and engagement.
| Tab | Purpose | Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| All | View every Seller who has interacted with your products. | A complete overview of all relationships. |
| Active | Sellers currently allowed to publish your products. | Confirms who’s actively promoting your brand. |
| Disabled | Sellers whose permission to list your products has been revoked. | Keeps your distribution network controlled and intentional. |
2) Understanding the Fields on Your Sellers Table
Your Sellers Table gives you a quick snapshot of your distribution network and engagement health.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | The business name of the Seller (e.g., “Paws & Relax Grooming”). |
| Status | Indicates the Seller’s ability to list your products. Active means they can sell your products; Disabled means they cannot. |
| Business Type | The seller’s category—such as service business, brick-and-mortal retailer. |
| Email Address | The seller’s primary contact email. |
| Product Count | Number of your products currently listed on their storefront. |
| First Listed | The date the Seller first published one of your products. |
Pro Tip: Sorting by Product Count helps you identify your most engaged Sellers.
3) Managing Seller Permissions
ShopDot gives you full control over which Sellers can feature your products. You can activate or disable Sellers at any time.
To Disable a Seller
- Go to the All or Active tab.
- Check the box next to the Seller’s name.
- Click Edit Status → Disable.
The Seller will move to the Disabled tab and lose permission to list your products on their storefront.
Note: Disabling a Seller does not send them a notification. If the Seller has already published your products, those products will be removed from both their Seller portal and live storefront.
To Activate a Seller
- Navigate to the Disabled tab.
- Check the box next to the seller’s name.
- Click Edit Status → Activate.
The Seller will move back to the Active tab and regain permission to publish your products.
Note: If you later reactivate the Seller, their previously published products will automatically be restored in the portal and on their storefront.
4) Viewing a Seller’s Profile
Click on any Seller’s name from the table to open their Profile. This view gives you a closer look at their business and relationship with your brand.
Seller Profile includes:
- About the Seller
- Contact email address
- Year joined ShopDot
- Business type and location
- Website and social media links
- “Listed Products” button – displays the products of yours they’ve published
5) Reviewing a Seller’s Listed Products
From any Seller Profile, click Listed Products to see exactly which of your products they have chosen to sell.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Product Name | The product they’ve listed from your catalog. |
| Status | The product’s current state in your catalog (Published, Unpublished, or Disconnected). |
| Animal Type | Animal type assigned to this product (e.g., Dog, Cat). |
| Category | Category and sub-category assigned in your ShopDot catalog. |
| Commission | The commission rate for that product. |
| Stock Level | Real-time stock availability as reflected from your store. |
| Base Price | Retail price currently displayed on the Seller’s storefront. |
| Last Updated | The last date you updated any detail for that product. |
6) Tracking Activity & Notifications
You’ll receive an automated email notification the first time a new Seller publishes one of your products. This helps you track engagement and spot new distribution opportunities as they happen.
To stay proactive:
- Review the First Listed column regularly for new activity.
- Check the Product Count field for growth or changes.
7) FAQ
1. How do I message my Sellers?
- Click on either the Sellers tab.
- You will be able to sell each Seller's email within the table.
2. Why would I disable a Seller?
You might disable a Seller if they’re inactive, their customer base no longer matches your strategy, or their business values don’t align with your Brand.
3. Can I re-enable a Seller after disabling them?
Yes — simply select the Seller and change their status back to Active.
4. Do Sellers see when I disable them?
No — disabling a Seller only affects their ability to add your products; it doesn’t send them a notification.
5. Does disabling remove their past sales data?
No — historical sales and listing data are retained on the backend for future reporting and analytics.
6. Can I manage multiple Sellers at once?
Yes — use the checkboxes and the Edit Status dropdown to update multiple Sellers in one step.
7. What’s the difference between the Status tabs and the Status filter?
- Tabs let you quickly view all Active or all Disabled Sellers.
- The Status filter gives you more flexibility — for example, you can combine it with Business Type or First Listed to drill into a specific group.
8. How can the First Listed filter help me?
The First Listed filter shows when a Seller first added your products. This can help you:
- Identify new partners.
- Spot long-term Sellers.
- Review if a Seller is still actively doing business or may need follow-up.
9. What happens if a Seller removes all of my products?
They remain Active unless you manually disable them. Sellers must have added at least one product previously to ever be Active. If all products are removed, they’ll still appear as Active with a Product Count of 0. Only current listings are shown in the Seller table, but historical product data is retained on the backend for analytics.
10. If I disable a Seller, are they still in my Seller table?
Yes. Disabled Sellers remain visible in your Seller table under the Disabled tab and the All tab.
11. Can I preview how my products look in a Seller’s storefront?
Yes — click View Store from their Profile tab to see their live storefront.
