How do I manage my products?
After you have added products to ShopDot, you can now manage your products within the Products tab. Below, we will breakdown the basic functions of the Products tab.
Product Listing
You will be able to view all of the products that you have imported from your eCommerce store in the Product Listing view. You can also perform the following functions on this page.
1. Activate/Deactivate the product - click here for more details.
- In order to have your product visible to retailers, you must mark them as Active first.
2. Assign Categories
Assigning product categories are required for all products. This is how retailers will be able to find your products within ShopDot. There are a few ways in which you can assign a category to your product.
- Click + Category button in the Category column.
- You can also assign categories in bulk. Select multiple products and click on Edit Categories under Choose Action.
- Select the Main category, Sub-category and Group and click Save Changes.
3. Add/remove tags
Product tags are not mandatory for you to use but they are a great way to help you and your retailers filter through your products. There are a few ways you can assign a product tag to your products.
There are two ways for you to add tags. You can either use the existing tags created by ShopDot or create your own.
- Click + Tags button in the Category column.
- Enter a Tag Name and hit enter. Your new tag will appear in as an Unassigned tags. To add tags to a product click the +. The tag will be moved to your Assigned tags.
- You can also add or remove tags in bulk. Select multiple products and click on Add Tags under Choose Action.
- Enter the tag, hit enter and Save Changes.
4. Update the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of your Product Variants
- Click into the product listing
- Scroll down to Product Variants and enter the new MSRP
- Click Save Changes.
5. Under Actions, you can do the following for the individual product:
- Edit Product - takes you to the Edit Product screen.
- Go to Shopify- takes you to your Shopify store under the listing in which you have clicked.
- Sync with eCommerce store- sync any changes you made to your eCommerce store.
- Customer View - takes you to the product page the customer will see when browsing your product.
- Delete- clicking this will delete your product listing.
Product Details
When you click on the product, you will be directed to the Product Details page which has the following Product and Product Variant fields.
Product-level Fields:
Product name | Imported from your eCommerce store | The text here is directly synced from your eCommerce store. You can choose to edit this field | mandatory |

You have the ability to show or hide particular variants within ShopDot. If you don't want to sell a variant, simply toggle the Allow status to Disallow. | mandatory | editable |
Shipping & Processing:
- The estimated days to fulfill comes from the product level and can be edited if you click Edit Products
- The shipping city, shipping state and shipping costs come from Settings <> Preferences section and can be edited accordingly
Edit Products
The Edit Product view allows you to edit the product details. There are mandatory settings that must be filled in order to Activate the product. See here for all more information on mandatory fields.
You can get to the Edit Products view several ways.
1. On Product Listings view, go to Actions and click Edit Product.
2. If you wanted to quickly view and edit the variant for a particular product, you can do that on the Product Listings view and clicking on the variant tablet.
Once you're in the Edit Products screen, you will be able to edit the following:
- Product name
- Product description
- Product images
- Product category
- Days to Fulfill
- Product tags
- SKU
- MSRP (in variant level table)
